We’re so grateful for the incredible Lincoln-Eliot community and all that we’ve accomplished together so far this year. Thanks to the generosity, energy, and teamwork of our families, teachers, and staff, the first half of the year has been filled with meaningful moments that support our students and strengthen our school.

As we look ahead, the PTO is excited for a spring full of upcoming events and opportunities to get involved. Whether you have a little time or a lot, every bit of participation helps — and we can’t wait to continue this work together.

The Spot Fund is our school’s shared PTO fund — built from donations and events — that supports the programs and opportunities our students love. One of the biggest areas it supports is Creative Arts and Sciences (CAS), which brings engaging, hands-on enrichment experiences to every grade.

We’re looking for a CAS Co-Lead to help guide this important work in collaboration with principals, teachers, and district leadership. This role helps decide which artists, scientists, and programs come to Lincoln-Eliot — a direct way to shape how our students learn and explore.

Thanks to the generosity of our Lincoln-Eliot community, we’ve been able to support CAS programs and host two CAS events, featured below. Your support continues to make a meaningful impact for our students.

Celebrated storyteller Len Cabral came to visit the 4th grade for their first CAS experience of the year in December. Len captivated the kids with his mesmerizing stories and folktales, such as “The Bear and the Chipmunk.” His visit was a great tie-in to the 4th grade ELA curriculum.

Our L-E community was dancing in their seats during the whole school creative arts and sciences assembly, Ball in the House! Thank you especially to Julie Loh and Kate Takayoshi for leading the event for the PTO and to Rukan Khondker and Jena Rossi at L-E who helped with all of the details!

Save the Date! The Lincoln-Eliot Science Fair will take place on Tuesday, March 31, from 5:00–7:00 PM in the Lincoln-Eliot Gym. Students and families can look forward to an evening of student science projects, hands-on exhibits, and a special visit from the Newton North High School Robotics Team. Thank you for supporting the Lincoln-Eliot PTO and helping us build a strong school community!

Our recent Book Fair in December was a success and a great way to celebrate our new library. Thanks to the support of our families and volunteers, the PTO was able to contribute $300 to help students purchase books through our Social Worker. The Fair also raised $2,000 for the PTO and $500 for the school library, helping to support future programming and grow our library collection. All volunteer shifts were fully covered during both the school day and the evening event, making the Fair run seamlessly from start to finish. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, shopped, and supported the Book Fair — your involvement helped make it successful and fun for our students.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Family Movie Night — it was a wild evening in the very best way! From cozy pajamas and stuffed animals to lots of popcorn and smiles, it was wonderful to see so many families together enjoying The Wild Robot.

A huge thank you to Lisa and Sarah for stepping in to help bring Movie Night back, and to all of our amazing volunteers who helped with setup, snacks, and cleanup. We truly couldn’t do events like this without you.

Most importantly, we loved seeing how much the kids enjoyed the night. Their excitement made all the planning worth it!
